These Arizona players stood out vs. BYU, according to Pro Football Focus

Now that the Arizona-BYU game has been in the books for over 24 hours, the analysts over at Pro Football Focus have had the chance to break it down play by play and grade each player’s performance.

You can learn how that process works here. In the meantime, here’s a brief look at which Arizona players stood out in the 24-16 loss.

Arizona’s highest-graded offensive players (minimum 30 snaps)

  • Michael Wiley, RB — 75.4
  • Stanley Berryhill III, WR — 69.5
  • Donovan Laie, LT — 67.5
  • Josh Donovan, RG — 67.4
  • Drake Anderson, RB — 66.2

Starters who graded low: LG Josh Baker (48.9), RT Paiton Fears (58.3), TE Bryce Wolma (47.2)

As a team, Arizona graded well in running (72.4) but poorly in pass blocking (56.6), passing (61.6) and receiving (60.7).

Arizona’s highest-graded defensive players (minimum 30 snaps)

  • Christian Roland-Wallace, CB — 73.2
  • Kenny Hebert, LB — 68.4
  • Christian Young, Viper — 68.1
  • Kyon Barrs, DL — 67.2
  • Gunner Maldonado, S — 66.4

Starters who graded low: LB Treshaun Hayward (54.1), DL Trevon Mason (55.1), LB Anthony Pandy (57.4)

As a team, Arizona graded well in run defense (71.2) and tackling (73.0), but poorly in pass rush (53.5) and coverage (58.4).
