With the Women’s College World Series just days from starting, it’s time for All-Americans to be named. Both Softball America and D1 Softball came out with their All-America teams on Tuesday morning. Three Arizona Wildcats were named to one or the other publications’ honor lists.
D1 Softball names a first team and a second team with one representative at each defensive position, four pitchers, and six utility players. The Wildcats have both a first-teamer and a second-teamer.
Allie Skaggs was named a D1 Softball First Team All-American at second base. It’s the senior’s second All-America honor. She was named an NFCA All-American as a sophomore. She was also named to the All-Pac-12 first team and NFCA All-Region first team out of the West region at second base. NFCA All-Americans for the 2024 season have not yet been released.

Sophomore left fielder Dakota Kennedy was named D1 Softball Second Team All-American as a utility player. Kennedy was named to the All-Pac-12 first team and Pac-12 All-Defensive team this season. She joined Skaggs on the NFCA West Region’s first team. It’s her first All-America nod.

Softball America names a first, second, and freshman team. Arizona did not place any players on the first or second teams, but freshman Regan Shockey was named to the rookie team. Shockey was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman and All-Defensive teams this season. Like Kennedy and Skaggs, she was NFCA All-Region first team out of the West. She is also one of three finalists for the Tucci/NFCA Freshman of the Year award.
