Ryan made his NHL debut at 29 years old. The forward played in 606 games, scoring 82 goals. His best season came in 2017-18 when he scored 15 goals and recorded 38 points with the Carolina Hurricanes.

In addition to the Canes, Ryan also played for the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers.

Final Seasons

Ryan joined the Oilers for the 2021-22 season. He had his best season with the Oilers, recording 22 points in 75 games. In the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Ryan played in 15 games as the Oilers reached the Western Conference Final.

During the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Ryan played in 19 games as the Oilers reached their first Stanley Cup Final since 2006.

In January of this past season, Ryan was placed on waivers to make room for rising youngster Noah Philip. Ryan did not play in any playoff games for the Oilers during the playoffs.

Award Voting

Ryan never won any awards during his career. However, he did receive Selke Trophy votes for the 2018-19 season. In addition, he received votes for the Lady Byng Trophy in 2021-22.
