The Coyotes are set to miss their netminder for a significant amount of time.
Early in the third period yesterday, play ended, and Darcy Kuemper headed to the back. Antti Raanta played the final 17:40, and the Arizona Coyotes beat the Colorado Avalanche, but questions remained what happened to Kuemper.
At the time, people were unsure what the issue was and how bad it would be. Video replays didn’t show Kuemper getting hit by a player, a stick, or a puck, so there was room for optimism.
Unfortunately, it looks like fans’ worst fears have come to pass. Craig Morgan today reported that Kuemper will be missing significant time.
It’s going to be the Antti Raanta and Adin Hill show for a while. Darcy Kuemper is going to miss significant time. At least the rest of this road trip, probably more. https://t.co/OFYvtX6Hsc

With Kuemper out, the team will be relying on Raanta and Adin Hill to take over the crease. Both netminders will be tested as the Coyotes are scheduled to play six games in the next two weeks.
Four of those games will come against the Avalanche and Minnesota Wild, two teams that the Coyotes have struggled against in the past.
The Coyotes have struggled with goaltending injury issues in the past. Antti Raanta has struggled with injuries and missed several games because of it.
