The 27-year-old forward will make $750,000 with the Coyotes in 2021–22.

The Arizona Coyotes have signed forward Alex Galchenyuk to a one-year contract worth $750,000, TSN’s Darren Dreger reported Tuesday evening.

Galchenyuk previously signed a professional tryout agreement with the Coyotes on Sept. 21 and is currently participating in the team’s 2021 training camp.

As of Tuesday, he is one of just 28 players still in contention to make the final roster.

This will be Galchenyuk’s second tenure with the Coyotes. He previously spent the 2018–19 season in Arizona after being acquired from the Montreal Canadiens in exchange for Max Domi.

In 72 games with the Coyotes, Galchenyuk scored a team-leading 19 goals and added 22 assists. After just one season in the desert, Galchenyuk moved on to Pittsburgh as part of a trade that saw Phil Kessel relocate to Arizona.

16 forwards remain in Arizona’s camp: Galchenyuk, Nick Schmaltz, Clayton Keller, Ryan Dzingel, Phil Kessel, Andrew Ladd, Loui Eriksson, Johan Larsson, Antoine Roussel, Barrett Hayton, Christian Fischer, Lawson Crouse, Jay Beagle, Dmitrij Jaskin, Travis Boyd, Ryan McGregor, and Liam O’Brien.
