The Coyotes have signed the young forward to a three year extension.

The signings keep coming, with the Arizona Coyotes announcing today that they had signed forward Liam Kirk to a three-year deal.

We can’t wait to see you in Arizona, @kirky_1424!https://t.co/w1ME9BbwsH

Kirk was drafted in the seventh round of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft, with the Coyotes selecting him 189th overall.

After being drafted, he came over to North America to play for the Peterborough Petes, and in 63 games, he had 26 goals and 21 assists. He had already surpassed that point total in 47 games (21-29-50) and was wearing an “A” when Covid-19 cut his season short.

Kirk spent this past season in Europe, playing 12 games for Hanhals IF in HockeyEttan and 14 games with the Sheffield Steelers in the EIHL Series.

But Kirk’s big coming out was in the World Championship. He and Andrew Mangiapane led the tournament with seven goals in seven games. Kirk and Great Britain didn’t make it to the medal rounds, but Kirk showed what he could do on the World Stage.

Next season Kirk will be eligible for the AHL, and he will likely end up spending some time in the AHL. Kirk’s game has improved as he has gotten older, and it will be interesting to see how he develops in the coming season.
