Baseball brunch! Weather permitting, anyway.

Roster moves
The Arizona Diamondbacks made the following roster moves. The D-backs’ 40-man roster is at 40.
- Recalled from Triple-A Reno: LHP Tommy Henry
- Optioned to Reno following last night’s game: RHP Scott McGough
In today’s line-up, what stands out is seeing Garrett Hampson playing center field for the first time as a Diamondback. The D-backs will seek to avoid their first losing sweep of the season. Getting the offense going will be key. Arizona has averaged only three runs per game on this trip, and the last time they delivered tacos away from Chase, was back on April 18, eight road games ago, in that wild 13-11 loss at Wrigley Field.
A pleasant surprise to discover that today’s game is an 11:05 contest, so not quite the horribly early Sunday game expected. Thanks to us largely getting the NL East out of the way, there’s only a couple of those left on the schedule. Seems possible there could also be a rain delay or two in our future, and that might be a factor in the roster move above. If Eduardo Rodriguez starts, but there’s then a delay, Henry can take over, with usual long relief guy Ryne Nelson slated to start omorrow as Corbin Burnes skips his rotation turn. According to Jody Jackson, “It’s supposed to rain most of the day but after heavy stuff passes, we are expecting to play through light rain.”
Not sure if we have a guest recapper today. LeahTheSunsFan is vaguely scheduled, but I haven’t heard back from the email I sent. If she’s in the GDT, please make herself known to me. Or if anybody else is interested as a possible back-up, raise your hand in the comments. Worst case scenario, I’ll do it. Not that I’m exactly doing much else. I say that mostly because I’m still recovering from PTSD, after recapping E-Rod’s last outing against the Mets. Maybe a rain delay after the first inning at Citizens Bank Park might be the best thing for all concerned.
