Roster moves
The Arizona Diamondbacks made the following roster moves. The D-backs’ 40-man roster is at 40.
- Recalled from Triple-A Reno: LHP Tommy Henry
- Placed on 15-day injured list: RHP Corbin Burnes, retro. to June 2 (right elbow inflammation)
No great surprise there, though the Burnes situation is still very much up in the air, with further opinions being sought. If the similar, previous situation with A.J. Puk is any guide, then we would be looking at a lengthy layoff for Burnes (not good), buy at least it’d mean no surgery (which would be worse). We will continue to operate in a holding pattern until any definitive information becomes available. But just as I close out, there was this:

Greetings from London, where we arrived earlier today. It was an overnight flight from Phoenix, but I didn’t get much sleep. Have now been up for about 32 hours in a row at time of writing, so will not be waiting for the line-ups to be announced! Got checked into the hotel, went for a walk around Hyde Park + Kensington Gardens (a 500+ acre park area in the middle of London), and that has been about it. I discovered after 25 years in Arizona, I no longer know how to pedestrian like in London. It seems cars can come at you from any direction. I find myself nervously scanning the trees in case one I’d waiting to pounce on me. Have already had our first curry of the trip. Probably won’t be the last…
