
Little steps…

Yesterday was basically the first time since April the D-backs won consecutive games that didn’t involve the Rockies (April 30-May 1 vs. the Mets). For now, goals should remain modest. Win series. Get back atop Mt. .500. Then we can start looking again at the wild-card standings. Yesterday seems to have been a solid all-round team performance and more of those would be welcome. Beating Strider is nice, even though he has been a shadow of himself since his return. Chris Sale won’t be easy, since he has allowed no more than two earned runs each of his last eight starts. Play clean and take your opportunities, because there probably won’t be many of them.
Day #2 in London was mostly spent touristing. After seeing so many people and traffic, Mrs S has decided she no longer could live here. She did enjoy the full English breakfast though! Did a bus tour round a bunch of the major sights, which was fun. Having a bit of a reunion tonight with people I used to know when I lived here, 25 years ago. We’ll see who still has their hair…
