“Start your workday”? Mate, my workday – if I had one here in London – would shortly be coming to an end by the time this one starts. But it’s a nice chance for the D-backs to complete a sweep. That’s something they have not done since April 17 in Miami. Oh, not swept, but also simply have the chance to do so, that being the last time they won three in a row (part of their season-high five-game winning streak). However, Brandon Pfaadt will need to be an awful lot better than his last outing, where he was historically terrible. He was charged with eight earned runs, becoming only the third starter for Arizona to throw a no-outer. Whatever ailed him there needs to have been fixed, stat.
Last day in London. Went up to 22 Horizon today, a free viewing platform in the second-highest building in Britain (it being free was a condition of permission for the building being built). Despite the rain – hello, it’s England! – the views were still spectacular. Tonight it’s off to see the Abba Voyage show, which I’ve heard nothing but good things about. Tomorrow it’s up to Scotland, where wifi is… well, we shall see…
