The Diamondbacks Minor League affiliates combined for a 3-1 record.

AAA: Reno Aces 13. Tacoma Rainiers 2

This game is a story of big home runs that propelled Reno to an easy victory. A pair of homers in the first, including a leadoff homer from Alek Thomas and a 3-run blast from Cooper Hummel gave Reno an early 4-0 lead. Humberto Mejia wasn’t efficient, but he delivered 5 innings and ultimately allowed 2 runs. Reno would score 5 more runs in the 4th, thanks to a Jake Hager grand slam. Henry Ramos homered in the 7th as well. Hummel would finish a triple shy of the cycle. The Reno bullpen fired 4 scoreless innings.

AA: Amarillo Sod Poodles 8, San Antonio Missions 1

Amarillo hitters quickly took control of this game, scoring 4 times in the first 3 innings of the game. That was enough run support for Tommy Henry, who allowed 1 run in 5 innings on 4 hits and 7 strikeouts. Amarillo’s bullpen continued the strong pitching, firing 4 scoreless innings as the offense pulled away late. Ryder Jones, Dominic Canzone, and Dominic Miroglio each hit home runs for the Sod Poodles at the plate as part of a 16-hit onslaught.

High A: Hillsboro Hops 7, Eugene Emeralds 4

Both teams opened up the game with a 2 spot on the board, but it was Hillsboro’s offense that continued to apply the pressure. Hillsboro ran wild on the bases, stealing 7 bases in 8 attempts. Errors and sloppy pitching allowing the Hops to take advantage of their baserunning despite not a lot of extra base hits or big hits in the outing. Shumpei Yoshikawa started and allowed 2 runs in 3 2⁄3 innings. The bullpen provided 5 1⁄3 innings of 2 run ball to allow Hillsboro to barely slip through.

Low A: Visalia Rawhide 4, San Jose Giants 5 (F/10)

Visalia was unable to hold a 3-1 lead and suffered an extra innings lost as a result of it. Ryan Bliss recorded all 3 RBIs for Visalia, hitting a 2-run homer in the 6th that gave Visalia that aforementioned lead and an RBI single that gave them a temporary 4-3 lead after the top of the 10th. Avery Short delivered 1 run of 5 innings, followed by three scoreless innings from John Carver. The 9th and 10th innings would prove to be a disaster. Hugh Fisher would only retire 1 of the 3 hitters he faced, although a throwing error by Bliss didn’t help. Jose Santamaria came in afterwards and would allow the tying runs to score. Santamaria had more trouble in the 10th, allowing a HBP and single. Eric Mendez would come in and get a force at 3B after a bunt. Another HBP loaded the bases before a single through the right side would be the end of the game.
