The Arizona Diamondbacks have altered the game time of their Saturday, July 17, matchup against the Chicago Cubs, the team announced Wednesday.
First pitch is now scheduled for 1:10 p.m. “to accommodate a potential Game 5 of the NBA Finals and ensure the ultimate daylong experience for Valley sports fans,” the D-backs said in a press release.
Arizona added that the time change will remain in place regardless on if the NBA Finals is over in four games or not.
The matchup will mark Game 2 of the three-game series between the two teams.
Against the NL Central this season, Arizona is 7-13, with five wins coming against the Cincinnati Reds.
The Phoenix Suns took Game 1 of the NBA Finals with a 118-105 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.
The series could end as soon as next Wednesday if the Suns manage to sweep the Bucks, or go as late as July 22 if the series extends to seven games.
The D-backs will look to make it back-to-back victories Wednesday night against the Colorado Rockies. Tune to 98.7 FM Arizona’s Sports Station for all the action.
