This isnt a true Snake Bytes. I was going to do one yesterday morning, but procrastinated and was reminded about it earlier. It is so late Monday that I would be stepping on AZfan’s SBs tomorrow. I am just bored, so here is a Monday Memes style Bytes…

People don’t sneeze in their sleep.

While asleep, humans are actually more prone to sneezing because the mucous membranes swell when lying down. However, the brain shuts down the neuroreceptors that stimulates our sneezing reflex. That way, only very strong stimuli can wake one to sneeze.

Uranus takes 84 years to orbit the sun.

This is longer than any of the other planet’s orbits in our solar system. One rotation on Uranus is around 17 hours long. It is also the coldest planet in our solar system.

A candle’s flame is hot and blue in zero gravity.

Diffusion feeds the flame with oxygen. This then allows carbon dioxide to move away from the point of combustion.

The UK government collected postcards as intelligence for the D-Day landings. This was an intelligence-gathering exercise. Initiated by Lieutenant General Frederick Morgan, he was searching for the hardest beaches to defend. The postcards were sent to the War Office and helped form part of the decision to choose Normandy as the location for the eventual D-Day landings.
