Diamondbacks Gloves Lead the Way to Blowout
It sure was nice to see the opposition struggle to get the decisive hit for a change. Arizona’s defense smothered numerous scoring opportunities for the Mariners, while Corbin Carroll and the rest of the offense just kept plucking away, slowly ratcheting up the score.
Defense Steers Diamondbacks to Blowout Win
Two triples from Corbin Carroll, home runs from Moreno, Gurriel, and Thomas, a scoreless Diamondbacks debut for Tay Scott, and a three inning save from Bryce Jarvis were all given a massive boost by the defense that limited the Mariners to only two runs through five innings, despite Brandon Pfaadt allowing all sorts of base runners. The only runs Seattle could muster before the eighth came courtesy of back-to-back home runs that the defense could not prevent.

Hello, operator. I’d like to report grand larceny.
Pre-social media, there would have been a 15 minute segment about this on Sportscenter and I would have talked about it with friends for weeks. I sometimes miss when things became almost folklorish & things moved slower.
