Kelly (7 IP, 1 H) takes no-hit bid into 6th as D-backs hang on in Atlanta
“[The difference is] probably working edges,” D-backs manager Torey Lovullo said. “We have some guys that hit lines and when they’re throwing balls on all four lines of the box, they’re [going to] have a lot of success.” Kelly added: “I would say the more I’m on the edge, the better the day is [going to] be for me. That’s kind of how I make my living [and] that’s kind of how I survive. I don’t have the stuff to be over the middle. I definitely don’t have the fastball to be over the middle. I make my money living on the edge and making guys swing at pitches that they might not want to swing at.”

Merrill Kelly, Justin Martinez bookend dramatic Arizona Diamondbacks win over the Braves
“I think we’ve always thought we can win (close games like this) again,” Kelly said. “Just kind of the ball hasn’t fallen in our favor. But I think everybody in here knows that we could have won many of those games that we’ve lost that were close. “I would say it does more losing those games than it does winning them. Obviously, if you continue to lose one-run games, two-run games, late in the game, it kind of starts the slide of people’s mentality or people’s questioning what we’re doing or all of that. But winning solves everything.”

Phoenix mayor: Chase Field bill close to more ‘fiscally responsible’
“I very much want the Diamondbacks to stay in downtown Phoenix and thrive. I’d like a World Series while I’m dreaming,” Gallego told KTAR News 92.3 FM’s The Mike Broomhead Show on Wednesday. “The original legislation was deeply troubling to me. I believe strongly we have a lot of needs right now, and to take money from uses like the Phoenix Fire Department to fund the Diamondbacks, we really needed some caps and constraints, and to recognize we have a lot of priorities. “I think we are close to a more fiscally responsible bill that has more controls in it. I’m hopeful that before the legislation leaves, we can have a bill that keeps the Diamondbacks in place but has more transparency about public dollars and more accountability.”

How Rockies are handling all-time worst start to MLB season
“The start of the year was tough, if we’re being honest about it,” injured reliever Austin Gomber said. “We weren’t very competitive. Since [interim manager Warren Schaeffer] has taken over we’re pretty much in every game. But it’s not going our way. It’s easier to keep the attitude positive. I know we’re competing every night. At the beginning of the year, that wasn’t the case.”
Freeland added: “You can’t be mailing it in right now or closing up shop. We have a lot of learning to do as a team, with a lot of young guys doing that learning. Us veterans have to keep the attitude of the team in the right spot.”

Sleep cleans your brain.
When a person sleeps, the flow of the cerebrospinal fluid found in the brain dramatically increases. This fluid washes away harmful proteins that build up between cells in the brain.
‘Deja reve’ is the term used for an experienced previously encountered in a dream.
Deja reve translates to ‘already dreamt’. It suggests that this phenomenon can lead us to better understand why dreams occur by physiologically observing the brain during this occurrence.
Baby sea otters are unable to swim.
Their mothers carry them wrapped around a piece of kelp while they hunt to keep them from drowning. This is only done until the pup learns how to float on his own eventually.
