Diamondbacks Walked Off by Angels
Ryne Nelson had a nightmare first inning, then he settled in and started chewing up the Angels. The Arizona offense picked Nelson up, but Kendall Graveman was unable to keep the Angels from scoring again in the fifth and Kyle Bachus gave up two hits (and the win) in the ninth, registering only one out.
Diamondbacks Give Discouraging Update on Miller
Shelby Miller’s trade value is now zero as he will go for a second opinion from Dr. Keith Meister regarding his forearm issues. Surgery is a very real possibility here.
Diamondbacks Notes Regarding Shelby Miller and Others
Injuries and ineffectiveness combined could leave Arizona with precious few (if any) trade candidates at the deadline.
Diamondbacks Looking for Gallen to Continue Hot Streak
It sure would be helpful to the Diamondbacks if Zac Gallen could spin a third consecutive gem tonight.
Diamondbacks Notes: Gallen, Kelly, Graveman, Beeks, and Miller
If Beeks is able to return on schedule, the retroactive nature of his IL listing and the all-star break could provide Arizona with just enough time to showcase him for a possible move at the deadline. If they move either of Gallen or Kelly, it makes total sense to aggressively move the other as well. The health of Arizona’s pitching could well determine a large portion of this season’s trade deadline for the entire league.

HE swatted another long fly ball to the wall that looked to be his third home run of the night, only to watch it be brought back from the stands by Kyle Tucker. But Bellinger came to the plate again the eighth. This time, he made sure no one was bringing the ball back.
