Clubhouse Reaction to Diamondbacks’ Big Win Over Cardinals
“I think there’s some psychological stuff that goes on when the team is scoring a bunch of runs, maybe the other team gets down a little bit. It definitely doesn’t hurt and kind of frees you up a little bit,” Nelson said.
Suarez’s 2 homers lead Diamondbacks; Marte possible for series finale
“What can you say about what Geno continues to do?” Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said. “He just doesn’t miss the pitch that he’s looking for. He’s almost setting up the pitcher, staying one step ahead of what the game plan might be, and when he gets his pitch, he doesn’t miss it.”

Eugenio Suarez, Corbin Carroll have performance never before seen in Diamondbacks history
This was the first game in club history in which a player hit multiple home runs and another hit multiple triples. The feat has only been done by three teams since 2020, as the Miami Marlins and Kansas City Royals did so last season.

“I told you I had some contact with him over the past couple of days, and he’s doing okay. Not great, but managing the best that he can. “But I’ll get more of an update when I sit down with him today and just say, ‘Hey, look, if you want to and we’re going to need you, I’d love it if you’re available for us off the bench today,’” Lovullo said.

“It’s really cool,” Kelly said. “To be able to flip the script and have them be the focus instead of us is really special. … To see them so positive, it puts things in perspective, right? If they’re smiling, then we really don’t have a reason not to.”
