Eduardo Rodriguez gave the Diamondbacks the sort of outing they were hoping for when they signed him last winter. The left-hander finally starting to round in form over his last few games. The bullpen was outstanding in relief, shutting out the Brewers. However, the Arizona offense was caught looking and was unable to support the outstanding pitching performance.
“They’ve spoiled me,” D-backs manager Torey Lovullo said of his offense. “You know, the game was over, and I was like, ‘Wow, that didn’t go the way that we expected it to or the way I thought it would.’
Arizona Offense Shut Down by Brewers
The Diamondbacks dropped the series opener to the Milwaukee Brewers 2-1 at Chase Field. Arizona’s high-powered offense was held to just one run, as they failed to get the big hit in the game despite getting a lot of traffic against Freddy Peralta.

Arizona put plenty of traffic on the base paths, but were unable to push runs across against Freddy Peralta and the Brewers.
