The Diamondbacks’ Eugenio Suarez crouched in pain, a trainer examining the spot on his right hand where a 95.9 mph fastball had just struck. Maybe 10 feet away, watching from the top step of the dugout, was Corbin Carroll. He knew as well as anyone what Suarez might have been feeling.

Eduardo Rodriguez continued his domination of the White Sox in Rate Field, throwing six shutout innings while striking out 10 batters. In five career starts at Rate Field, Rodriguez is now 5-0 with a 1.78 ERA.

Corbin Carroll Has Chip Fracture on Left Wrist, Headed to IL by Jack Sommers [SI]
Lovullo said it was somewhat confusing as the fracture is on the back of the wrist. The ball that hit him to cause the injury hit the side of his hand. Carroll will continue to get additional opinions to find out what the diagnosis means and what the timeframe will be.

Diamondbacks Slugger Named PCL Player of the Week by Alex D’Agostino [SI]
On Monday, Arizona Diamondbacks minor league first baseman and designated hitter Tristin English was honored by minor league baseball, being named Pacific Coast League Player of the Week for his late-June heroics.
English, 28, has caught fire at the plate in recent weeks. Over the span of the past week, he put forward a .367 average with five doubles and three home runs.
